Saab, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Tax Accountant to join our expanding team in Syracuse, NY. The Tax accountant, under guidance of the tax manager, will work closely with outside firms and support in all phases of corporate tax reporting including state and federal filings and deposits, indirect domestic filings and International VAT filings. This position will also work closely with and support the accounting department.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting the proposals team by reviewing and researching tax requirements in new domestic and international jurisdictions
With assistance from external firms, manage recurring International Tax and Vat Filings
Respond to State, Federal and International tax inquiries and support on audits
Support in building new internal processes to better manage our growing tax requirements
Preparation of recurring Tax returns including Sales & Use, Excise, FBAR and local municipality returns
Coordinate with external firms on State and Federal compliance
Prepare Tax budgets and Forecasting
Research and analyze new tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
Ability to work with staff across departments and locations while utilizing analytical and problem solving skills
Assist with ad hoc projects within tax and the accounting team as needed
Compensation Range: $61,600-$75,500
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting
3+ years of relevant experience in public and/or private industry
Detail and Deadline oriented and ability to work independently
Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments and with related party entities in the US and Internationally
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
