What We Need:
We are looking for a Design Applications Specialist to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team.
As a Design Application Specialist, you will be responsible for providing design and specification services to our internal and external customers and end users. You will apply product knowledge and offer creative design solutions while providing product applications, layouts, and specifications. Services provided on the team include project typical specification, audit services, and design consultations.
What You Will Do:
  • Design/space plan and specify creative solutions with systems, freestanding, and architectural product solutions.
  • Support technical design requirements such as space planning, typical development, product specifications, and finish selection.
  • UtilizeCET,AutoCAD,Sketchup,and 2020 Worksheet.
  • Interpret customer criteria, understand product objective to translate and developdesigns that support,illustrate,andvisualizefurniture andarchitectural product solutions.
  • Developdesigns that support,illustrate,and visualize furniture andarchitectural product solutions.
  • Impact the selling process by providing unique design applications, color, and finish schemes, to provide a valued final solution that will improve our customer experience and win rate.
  • Interpret sketchesand construction document sets best apply product recommendations solve customer problems.
  • Provide consultative selling support that promotes relevant and impactful solutions to internal and external customers through in person discussions, CET LIVE design, and virtual experiences.
  • Review, interpret, and respond toRFI, RFQ, and RFP documents to provide product recommendations and specifications for bid responses.
  • Utilizevalue-engineering principles and incorporate information from Tailored Products and Product Development to create and recommend cost-effective,comprehensive design solutions.
  • Provide details and information in a quick, clean, effective manner and demonstrate team services and processes withcompetency and professionalism.
  • Submit and managetailored productoptions forengineer-to-orderapplications.
  • Provide sketches, notes, and illustrations/renderingsto recommendproduct applicationsand visually communicate design intent or product recommendations.
  • Complete on-going product training and demonstrateplanning directivesforAllsteel/Gunlocke/HNIproductsolutions.
What You Have:
  • Associates Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field or equal experience preferred.
  • 1-2 yearsminimumexperience in space planning,architectural productspecification,andproject managementis preferred.
  • CET,Sketchup,AutoCAD, Cap, and 2020 Worksheetexperience strongly preferred.
  • Experience successfully managingmultipleprojectsanddeadlines.
  • NCIDQand/or LEED certifications preferred.
