Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing functions under the direct supervision of a registered and licensed Radiologic Technologist.

  • In addition, to positioning patients radiographic exams, the aide is also responsible for preparing exam rooms, equipment, supplies and contrast medications. Must possess outstanding customer service skills.

  • Must flex to accommodate volumes.

  • When Radiology student clinical intern is on site and working as an employee of the Diagnostic Imaging Department;

  • the Radiology clinical intern must not make any radiation exposures in accordance to the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology.

  • Responsible for working in compliance according to the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology.
  • Student intern will NOT make any radiation exposures when working as a Radiology Clinical Intern.
  • Responsible for positioning patients for technical procedures as authorized under the direction of a licensed Radiologic Technologist. In addition, performs basic patient care tech responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of the terminology, processes and procedures, regulations relating to Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Incorporates knowledge while performing the unit-specific technical procedures and job responsibilities of the Clinical Intern position.
  • Responsible for completing basic radiography competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies.
  • Collects patient data under the direction of licensed personnel.
  • Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in Amarillo college Radiography Program.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited radiography program with an anticipated program completion date as outlined in the radiography program.
  • CPR
