Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is a freestanding, 122 bed facility specializing in general adult psych, adolescents, geriatric, and women's services. We are conveniently located in Southwest Houston, between the Galleria and Meyerland shopping districts, only minutes away from the Houston Medical Center, Downtown, and Midtown.

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking dedicated and talented Recreation Therapist to plan and implement activity services for assigned program. Responsibilities include defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Qualifications

Recreation Therapist Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline, or a Master's degree in Art Therapy, preferred.

License/Certification: CTRS/TRS/ TRA certification required.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
