Reporting to the Manager, Site Services, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the following:

What you will do:

  • Execute engineering and capital strategies for the site to maintain safe, reliable, efficient operations
  • Support initiatives that allow the site to meet safety, environmental, financial, and capacity utilization targets
  • Own mechanical design of plant changes through the MOC process
  • Analyze maintenance history and failure data to prioritize issues and opportunities
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies and tactics for fixed and rotating equipment
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations
  • Conduct equipment assessments during maintenance and inspection opportunities for repair quality, fitness for service, and life expectancy evaluation
  • Specify pressure equipment repairs
  • Develop equipment specifications and review equipment purchases and installations to ensure that equipment is built to recognized practices
  • Work with Site Maintenance and Operations Groups, Planners, Engineers, Inspectors, and Capital Projects teams
  • Support department long-term maintenance plan and asset management goals

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical
  • Registered Professional Engineer, or be eligible for registration
  • 6 - 10 years of plant mechanical engineering experience on fixed and rotating equipment
  • Must be available to immediately work in the USA and willing to relocate to Borger, Texas
  • Working knowledge in pressure vessel and piping codes (ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, ASME PCC-1, ASME PCC-2), and NDT inspection techniques
  • Working knowledge in API 579, API 571, API 510, API 570 and API 650 is considered an asset
  • Exposure to regulatory requirements for pressure equipment
  • Exposure to vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography, and other preventative and predictive maintenance technologies is considered an asset
  • High level of problem solving skills and comprehension
  • Self starter with excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Experience in safety management processes and practices
