Overview

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Field Services Interns (Testing and Commissioning) for our Summer 2024 intern program. This is a paid temporary position. Anticipated duration is June 2024 through August 2024 (flexible). This position has the potential to transition into a Full-Time role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced TRC Commissioning Engineers.

This role will include participation in our Power Academy training out of Lancaster, PA for the first 6-7 weeks. Travel and lodging covered by TRC.


Responsibilities

  • Testing and Commissioning of protective relays for electrical transmission & distribution substations.
  • Works under supervision of Experienced TRC staff to test and verify substation protection & control system functionality.
  • Become familiar with various types of test equipment.
  • Become familiar with testing & commissioning processes and procedures
  • Read and interpret design drawings to understand engineering design and confirm intent.
  • Must have strong electrical fundamental understanding.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old with valid Driver's License
  • Pursuing a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail orientated person.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites.
  • Willing to work overtime and travel out of town weekly.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
