What You'll Do

If you are close to graduation, we would like for you to consider CNS's college recruiting opportunities.

The position involves placement in Career ONE, the Engineering Rotation and Development Program, which provides participants with learning and development opportunities in each of the functional areas within Engineering. Task, job, and project rotational assignments during an employee's initial phase of employment allow opportunities to gain knowledge about the site, cross-functional job experience, and valuable networking with the workforce and leadership. Each fact of an employee's development reinforces the technical competencies needed to operate and manage the site. This phase of the employee's technical development, which could span 12 to 18 months, allows the division to focus on expanding the employee's knowledge, skills, competencies, and interests. The employee will achieve the desired learning before moving into a home department for further growth and development.

Employees will also be afforded the opportunity to participate in a wide range of technical and professional development seminars, workshops, and lectures on technical engineering topics and other areas of interest. The majority of workshops will be led by Engineering and site subject matter experts.

Additionally, career and technical mentors are a key component of the program. Employees are able to draw from the career knowledge of seasoned employees to develop competencies and grow leadership capabilities. Discipline chief engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMA's) serve as career mentors, offering new hires support and guidance over a 12 to 18 month phase of development. Experienced employees provide technical mentoring by supporting and guiding new employees during specific tasks, jobs, and project assignments. They demonstrate the how-to of a job.
