Access Community Credit Union is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services. These people are members. It serves groups that share something in common, such as where they work, live or go to church or school.
The Credit Union is not-for-profit, and exists to provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and to get loans at reasonable rates.
Like other financial institutions, Access Community Credit Union is closely regulated. And it operates in a very prudent manner. The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, administered by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government, insures deposits of Credit Union members. Deposits are insured up to $100,000.
A professional staff handles the day-to-day operation of the credit union in accordance with the state and federal regulations. Elected by and from the membership, the Board of Directors is responsible for setting the policies and establishing guidelines.
